A woman was shocked to find out at her dad'sfuneralthat he had been living "a double life" with another partner for 15 years.
The unnamed woman said that three unknown people came to her father's funeral service after he died aged 62. He had lived an ordinary life, at least the daughter thought, with his wife, her mum, with whom he'd been in a relationshipsince his teenage years. And then all that she had known about him was shattered when the woman who came to the service accompanied by two teenage boys and told her they should talk.
And then the stranger allegedly said: "I'm Denise. I was with your dad for 15 years." At first, the daughter suspected the woman was deceiving her, but when she produced a photo of her dad at birthday celebrations, Christmases, and holidays, she couldn't dispute the evidence.

She wrote on Reddit: "She said he'd told her my mom had passed away years ago. He'd been living a double life for almost two decades, splitting time between 'work trips' that were really weekends with her. My mum's entire face crumpled when I told her. They'd just celebrated their 40th anniversary."
Now, both sides of her father's family are dealing with the emotional aftermath of this shocking revelation, as neither knew about the other until after his death. As they grapple with the loss of the man they thought they knew, they're also coming to terms with the secrets he left behind.
The woman went on: "Now we're dealing with the emotional fallout, two families grieving the same man, realising he wasn't the person we thought he was. I keep wondering how many birthdays and holidays he spent rushing between us, pretending he was late because of traffic."
Readers of the post were stunned by the family drama that the woman had unwittingly become embroiled in. Many expressed their sympathy for her loss, both following the death of her father and the "illusion he built", reported the Daily Record.
One individual commented: "Double life, double grief. You're mourning the man who raised you and the illusion he built. That's the worst kind of loss, when even your memories feel like lies."
Another added: "I am so sorry. All I can think of is that therapy would be good, and maybe the siblings would at least not hate each other. This is insanely tough to navigate with a death plus betrayal." A third remarked: "Man, that's absolutely brutal. I can't even imagine processing that at a funeral of all places. The logistics alone of keeping two families going for 15 years is insane."
